Sacramento Bee:  The city and county of Sacramento have received $7.5 million in grants for disaster preparedness and emergency response training, officials announced today.

Mayor Kevin Johnson and law enforcement officials said the grants would help regional agencies work together to address major events.

"Certainly terrorism, major crime and natural disasters know no geographical boundaries and neither will our ability to fight these things," Sheriff Scott Jones said.
