Sacramento councilwoman: 'We need to get both the ladies a raise'

Published: 1 years 159 days ago

Sacramento Bee:  Despite persistent budget deficits and layoffs at City Hall, Sacramento City Councilwoman Bonnie Pannell thinks it's time to give raises to two of the city's highest-paid employees.

In what turned into an awkward exchange during Tuesday's City Council meeting, Pannell called for a discussion over giving City Attorney Eileen Teichert and City Clerk Shirley Concolino raises.

Teichert makes $189,000 in base salary and is the third-highest paid employee at City Hall. Concolino makes $128,100, which ranks her 78th. Neither has had a raise since 2007.
