Sacramento Business Journal: A longtime defender of the environment, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a case for clean energy Friday at the downtown Hyatt Regency Sacramento, saying our addiction to carbon is expensive and harmful to people and animals.
“Every nation that has decarbonized its economy has experienced instantaneous economic prosperity,” he told the nearly 500 people gathered for Mayor Kevin Johnson’s monthly Greenwise meeting.
Kennedy’s appearance is part of Johnson’s effort to help Sacramento become a hub for green and clean-technology jobs. Johnson launched Greenwise in May in an effort to make the region the greenest in the country.
