Sacramento Bee:  Global Climate Summit brings leaders, celebrities to UC Davis

What: Prominent leaders and celebrities from around the world will
gather at the University of California, Davis, for the Governors'
Global Climate Summit 3: Building the Green Economy. It is co-hosted
by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and the United Nations; participants
include actor Harrison Ford, Deepak Chopra and British Prime Minister
David Cameron. This year's summit will also provide subnational
leaders the opportunity to influence the positions of their national
governments in advance of the United Nations COP 16 meeting in Cancun
in December.

When: 10 a.m. today. Sessions are also on Tuesday.

Where: Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts and
in nearby campus venues, Davis.

Sacramento Steps Forward has milestone

What: Sacramento Steps Forward, a regional initiative to combat
homelessness, has its first anniversary. SSF issues report on its
successes; Mayor Kevin Johnson will outline goals for this year.

When: 11 a.m.

Where: Serna Village, 5836 Dudley Blvd., inside McClellan Park, Sacramento.
