Sacramento Bee: The development of midtown is one of Sacramento's most important success stories, and Second Saturday is one of midtown's crown jewels.
The city must safeguard the monthly art walk, make sure it does not fall victim to its own popularity and not allow any problems to fester, while not overreacting.
In the city's view, Second Saturday is "extraordinarily successful" and any problems are far preferable to having a moribund midtown.
But they're challenges nonetheless, and require the attention of city officials and merchants. Their initial effort to address the issues is promising.
