Sacramento Bee: Moving with point guard-like alacrity, Sacramento Kings officials today were quick said no, they are not the team a Texas developer is claiming he has a contract to buy.
That developer, Chris Milam of International Development Management, was quoted in the Las Vegas Sun today saying he has a contract signed with a National Basketball Association team to purchase and move to Las Vegas - if officials there will work with him to get an arena built.
"The Maloofs have absolutely nothing to do with that proposal," spokeswoman Donna Lucas said. "They didn't even know about it. They are not selling the team. They are not moving the team."
Efforts in Sacramento to build a new arena march slowly forward. The Sacramento City Council will be briefed next week on what are still being described as the early stages of on a land-swap proposal that would bring the Kings to a downtown arena in 2014.
