Sacramento Bee: In a key step for a plan to build a new sports arena in the downtown railyard, the Sacramento City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to direct city staff to work with the proposal's development team on the language for a six-month exclusive negotiating agreement.
The council will have final say on the terms of the negotiating agreement next month. If the terms are finalized, city staff and the developers behind the plan – called Convergence – would spend 180 days working out several details of the proposal.
