Mayor Johnson discusses entertainment and sports complex, homelessness

Published: 2 years 67 days ago

Today Mayor Kevin Johnson held his weekly press conference to discuss the entertainment and sports complex and the “One Day to End Homelessness” Campaign, among other topics.

The “One Day to End Homelessness” Campaign is a one time opportunity led by the faith-based community and regional leaders that ask citizens to donate the worth of their rent or mortgage payment in order to leverage the federal dollars needed to support those less fortunate in our community.

For every $1 privately raised, the Homelessness Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program will receive $4 in funds from the federal government. The goal is to raise $400,000 to receive $1.6 million in matching funds, allowing up to 2,000 eligible families and individuals to be served in Sacramento County.
