Transparency and accessibility are foundations of my administration. With Office Hours, Town Halls and issue-specific public meetings, I’ve heard from thousands of residents. The input has helped frame my views and decisions on many issues.Accessibility isn't limited to face-to-face meetings. I am also accessible to traditional print and broadcast media.
As many of you know, I conduct weekly media interviews every Tuesday morning. I begin with "Good Day Sacramento" on CW 31 at 6 a.m. then head to the "Fox 40 Live" at 7:20 a.m.It's easy to find me on the radio, discussing issues on a variety of topics. Every other Tuesday, I call in to KHTK 1140 for an interview at 7:30 a.m.– while on my way to KSFM 102.5 for a weekly 8 a.m. in-studio chat with Wayne, Jay and Reagan.I go on the air with KFBK’s Kitty O’Neal each Wednesday and chat each Friday with KTKZ’s Eric Hogue. And every Tuesday at 11 a.m., I make myself available to all members of the press (and even a few bloggers) at City Hall. That covers the traditional, broadcast and blogging media. But there's more. I’m making my best effort to keep pace with the new media by communicating via the Internet.
I’m on Twitter, where I update my followers on city business, travels, favorite restaurants – and Cal’s upset victory over Stanford. I respond to questions and comments from residents. If you're a fan of my Facebook page, you can read the latest articles, view the latest pictures, and receive breaking news from my blogs – all straight from the source. You can find some fun material as well. Did you know ESPN ranked my dunk over Hakeem Olajuwon one of the Top 10 best dunks of all-time? You can find the video and my weekly press conferences on my YouTube Channel.Since running for Mayor, it's been my goal to see Sacramento become a world-class city. Communications have always played an important role in the city's growth and development. I would love to have you along for the journey, every step of the way.
